The IBILE Experience
Lagos in Motion
Lagos in Motion
In Nigeria’s national imagination, governance is often debated in abstraction. But in Lagos State, governance is performed in motion — visible, inspectable, and increasingly participatory.
Lagos is on the Move
At the heart of this evolving civic engagement model is The IBILE Experience Celebrity Media Tours — a strategic public accountability and narrative initiative from the desk of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media & Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
About IBILE Experience
It is more than a tour. It is more than optics. It is a structured immersion into the developmental spine of Africa’s most kinetic megacity.
About
Understanding “IBILE”: The Five Pillars of Lagos
IBILE is not a slogan. It is a geographic and cultural framework representing the five administrative divisions that make up Lagos:
- I – Ikeja
- B – Badagry
- I – Ikorodu
- L – Lagos Island
- E – Epe
Each zone encompasses multiple Local Government Areas and LCDA clusters, forming a complex urban mosaic of industrial corridors, residential hubs, agrarian belts, waterfront economies, and heritage towns.
The IBILE Experience takes selected celebrities, cultural influencers, and media personalities across these five zones — not for ceremonial visits, but for structured, on-ground inspections and policy conversations.
Governance in Plain Sight
-
Lagos has long operated under scrutiny. As Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, its policy decisions reverberate nationally. Other states benchmark its transport models, digital reforms, revenue architecture, and urban planning strategy.
-
The IBILE Experience acknowledges this reality.
“There is always something to talk about in Lagos, and this is understandable,” says Akosile. “It is good to have the right context and have the right things to talk about. Lagos is not where it used to be. Lagos is constantly in motion — and in the right direction.”
